The present invention relates to a production method of a catalyst for the synthesis of polyethylene and a synthesis method of polyethylene using the same. More specifically, the present invention relates to: a production method of a catalyst for the synthesis of polyethylene which comprises a step of making a magnesium compound react with alcohol and a compound denoted by chemical formula 1 to obtain a magnesium solution, and a step of making the magnesium solution react with tetrahydrofuran and a transition metal compound; and a synthesis method of polyethylene using the same.
