Abstract Disclosed is a fastener (10) comprising a central elongate shank (12) extending between first (14) and second (16) ends. The first end (14) of the shank (12) has a tapered point. The second end (16) a head (17) has an annular shoulder (19) disposed towards the second end (16). The fastener (10) further comprises an opposed pair of spines (18, 20) extending helically along the shank (12) and a plurality of hooks (30) extending from each of the pair of opposed spines (18, 20). Also disclosed is a protrusion (22) extending axially with the shank (12) from the head (17) deformable into an anti-friction washer (25) upon impact by a fastener driver. |
