With respect to a transmission circuit (10) that is equipped with a transmitting antenna (11) and a power supply (14) capable of supplying electric power to the transmitting antenna, an impedance matching device (100) matches the input impedance of the transmitting antenna to the output impedance of the power supply. The impedance matching device is equipped with: a matching circuit (110) having multiple variable reactance components; an incident signal/reflected signal extraction circuit (120) for extracting an incident signal and a reflected signal; an estimation means (130) for estimating the input impedance on the basis of the extracted incident signal and reflected signal; and a setting means (140) for setting values pertaining to some of the multiple variable reactance elements on the basis of the estimated input impedance such that the output impedance and the input impedance theoretically match, and then adjusting a value pertaining to at least one of the multiple variable reactance elements in accordance with the reflected signal.
