[Problem] To provide a water treatment method and apparatus for obtaining treated water by adding an anionic polymer flocculant to the water to be treated, thereafter stirring to flocculate same, and then separating the solids from the liquids, wherein flocs that are stable enough not to disintegrate due to shearing forces during stirring and that have good settleability can be formed and the water quality of the treated water is excellent. [Solution] A water treatment method comprising a flocculation process for adding an anionic polymer flocculant to the water being treated to generate flocs, a flocculation process for then stirring the water being treated to form the flocs, and a solid-liquid separation process for separating the formed flocculated product into solids and liquids to obtain treated water, the water treatment method being characterized in that before adding the anionic polymer flocculant, a cationic polymer flocculant with a cationic group ratio of 10 - 50 mole% is added to the water being treated. |
