PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal device that is capable of more efficient radio communication by notifying a user of an appropriate holding direction of the mobile terminal device depending on communication contents.SOLUTION: A mobile terminal device having a communication function includes: a display; a first communication antenna arranged in either the upward direction or downward direction of the display; a receiver for outputting voice and arranged facing the first communication antenna with the display in between; a communication determination unit for determining whether the mobile terminal device performs communication requiring the receiver to output voice; and a display control unit for switching the upward direction and downward direction of a display screen of the display on the basis of the determination result of the communication determination unit.
