PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase sensitive amplifier that is applicable to optical communication and enables amplification at low noise.SOLUTION: The phase sensitive amplifier includes a secondary nonlinear optical device (707) for generating a difference frequency light by difference frequency generation of a second harmonic as a part of signal light and first excitation light from an excitation light source (704), and a second excitation light source (711) for performing oscillation at the same wavelength as the difference frequency light. The difference frequency light is input to the second excitation light source and light injection synchronization is performed, second excitation light is generated by extracting a carrier wave phase from the signal light, main excitation light is generated by sum frequency generation of the first excitation light and second excitation light in a secondary nonlinear optical device (715), and degenerate parametric amplification is performed using the signal light and main excitation light in a secondary nonlinear optical device (717). |
