PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated saw wire excellent in abrasion resistance, in which an organic film or an inorganic film is coated on a surface of a base wire and which is used as the coated saw wire for cutting while spraying abrasive grains, and to provide the coated saw wire capable of making a cut surface of a work-piece excellently accurate.SOLUTION: A saw wire is coated with an organic film or an inorganic film on a surface of a base wire. Ratio (Young's modulus/hardness) of the Young's modulus (GPa) of a film surface to the hardness (GPa) of the film surface is 6 to 25 when measured by nano-indentation method. |
