PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance tracking performance.SOLUTION: An image sensor 16 outputs an electronic image representing a scene captured by an image pick-up surface repeatedly. A CPU 26 searches the face image of one or more persons repeatedly from the electronic images outputted from the image sensor 16, and performs a processing for tracking a face image from the electronic images outputted from the image sensor 16, corresponding to a specific face image out of one or more face images thus searched, in parallel with the searching. Furthermore, the CPU 26 adjusts focal length with reference to the face image thus tracked, and the tracking accuracy is enhanced as the number of face image thus searched increases. |
