PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of easily removing a contaminant entering into a plant tissue.SOLUTION: In a method for converting plant materials contaminated with radioactive materials into fuel, respective plant materials are crushed into small lumps of small pieces, the small pieces after being crushed are brought into contact with an alkaline aqueous solution, plant tissues in the small pieces are partially dissolved by the alkaline aqueous solution, deposits including the radioactive materials are separated from the small pieces and moved into the alkaline aqueous solution, thereby obtaining decontaminated fuel. |
