In order for this extracorporeal circulation device to achieve highly stable extracorporeal circulation and suppress increases in circuit scale and power consumption, a main control unit that controls the entire extracorporeal circulation device controls a motor drive circuit that operates at a blood flow rate per unit time set by a user. The motor drive circuit applies a drive signal corresponding to the set blood flow rate, to the motor. An auxiliary control unit comprising an FPGA detects the drive signal applied to the motor, and continues to monitor if same is within a permissible range corresponding to the set blood flow rate. If a drive signal outside the permissible range has been applied, the main control unit is recognized as being in an error state and is stopped completely, and the auxiliary control unit takes over subsequent processing. |
