The invention relates to an orthodontic appliance having sliding rods for the treatment of a lower jaw that is offset relative to the upper jaw. A sleeve is inserted between the opposite ends of two rods, each of which is associated with one of the jaws. The second rod is screwed into the sleeve at one end, while the first rod is slidably mounted in said sleeve at the opposite end. The sleeve includes a means for spacing adjustment, which is capable of adjusting the position of the second rod relative to the sleeve by screwing and unscrewing. |
