The present invention relates to a frame retardant for a styrene based resin and a flame retardant composition comprising thereof, and more specifically, to a frame retardant for a styrene based resin and a flame retardant composition comprising thereof which contains a non-halogen based flame retardant compound and an epoxy based resin with a recurring unit denoted by chemical formula 1, and satisfies flame retardant standard IEC TS 62441 of external candle flame ignition without using excessive amount of the non-halogen based flame retardant compound.
