Provided is a positive electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery, said positive electrode active material comprising a domain-oriented agglomerate including a plurality of oriented secondary particles configured from a plurality of primary particles which comprise a lithium complex oxide having a layered rock salt structure, and which are oriented such that (003) surfaces do not intersect each other in at least a uniaxial direction, said oriented secondary particles being oriented such that neighbouring oriented secondary particles have mutually different orientations. According to the present invention, a positive electrode active material can be provided which is not only capable of achieving excellent initial output characteristics, but which is also capable of achieving an excellent output-characteristics retention rate if repeatedly charged and discharged. |
