The method involves providing an interface input block and an interface output block (94) for a given part of a partial model for a signal exchange with a part of a model. A defined signal-identifier is assigned (96) to each of the interface input block and the interface output block, and indicates a size of a signal to be transmitted. An input possibility for mapping of one sub-model is provided to a selected system architecture component of a system architecture. Internal signal connections are generated for signal exchange between the components of the system architecture.
