PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission system, an optical transmission method, and an optical transmission module capable of transmitting information, different from a main signal, between a transmitter and a receiver with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: An optical transmission system includes a transmission unit having a plurality of light-emitting elements connected, respectively, with a plurality of transmission lines, and transmitting a main signal via the plurality of transmission lines, and a reception unit having a plurality of light-receiving elements connected, respectively, with a plurality of transmission lines. A threshold of optical power for determining presence or absence of input of a main signal is set in the reception unit. The transmission unit transmits a control signal consisting of a high level exceeding the threshold and a low level lower than the threshold via at least any one of the plurality of transmission lines, during a period other than the transmission period of main signal. The reception unit includes a decoding section for decoding the control signal when a high level and a low level are included in the control signal during a predetermined period. |
