A vehicular headlight (4) control device (1) controls the transition of a light distribution pattern of a vehicular headlight (4) in accordance with a detected vehicle speed between three light distribution patterns of a normal mode corresponding to a variable light distribution controllable state, an OFF mode corresponding to a low-beam state, and a residential area mode corresponding to a high-beam light distribution such that a pedestrian is not blinded, and is provided with: a vehicle speed determination means (S6) that determines whether the detected vehicle speed is a vehicle speed in a predetermined range such that the light distribution pattern can transition to the residential area mode; and a control mode determination means (S8, S10) that determines whether an immediately preceding implementation state in light distribution pattern transition control has been the normal mode. When it is determined that the detected vehicle speed is a vehicle speed within the predetermined range, and that the immediately preceding implementation state in the light distribution pattern transition control is the normal mode, transition of the light distribution pattern between the modes is prohibited. |
