A transmission/reception system and transmission/reception method are provided which can handle signals received from a device connected to a standby device and signals transmitted to a device connected to a standby device using a transmission/reception device installed in an operations device. Data signals and control signals, transmitted to a receiver of the operating device, undergo parallel/serial conversion and are then multiplexed using a multiplexer. Thereafter, the resultant signal is transmitted to the operating device as one serial receive signal and undergo serial/parallel conversion and are demultiplexed using a demultiplexer of the operating device. Data signals and control signals, transmitted to a device connected to a standby device, undergo parallel/serial conversion and are then multiplexed using a multiplexer. Thereafter, these signals are transmitted from the operating device to a standby device as a single serial transmission signal and undergo serial/parallel conversion and are demultiplexed using a demultiplexer of a standby device. |
