PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manuscript reading device capable of preventing deformation or twist that occurs in a manuscript feeding device from being transmitted to a reading carriage formed in the manuscript feeding device.SOLUTION: The manuscript reading device includes: a second reading carriage 3 provided in a manuscript feeding unit and reading a face different from a manuscript face read by a first reading carriage; a support frame 51 having support faces 53 supporting the second reading carriage 3; holding members 54 for holding the second reading carriage 3 between the support frame 51 and the holding members; and elastic members 55 provided between the second reading carriage 3 and the holding members 54 and pressing the second reading carriage 3 toward the support frame 51. A curved surface is formed on either the support faces 53 of the support frame 51 or faces 42 supported by the support faces 53 in the second reading carriage 3.
