A service usage range determination method comprises: an information acquisition step (S401) of acquiring from a household appliance apparatus, using close-range wireless communication, household appliance information which denotes a usage state wherein the household appliance apparatus is used; a service usage range determination step (S402) of determining, according to a frequency of occurrence of close-range wireless communication with the household appliance apparatus and a frequency of usage of the household appliance apparatus which is determined using the household appliance information, a usage range of a service which a user of the household appliance apparatus is able to use; and a notification step (S403) of notifying the user of the determined service usage range.
