<p>The invention relates to a method for detecting the positioning direction of an asymmetric particle filter. The method is characterised in that it comprises: a step (Du) of unitary diagnosis of the positioning direction of the particle filter as a function of a coefficient K equal to the ratio of a pressure-related criterion (DPDV) to the estimated weight (M) of soots in the particle filter; a step (Diag) of diagnosing x values of the coefficient K1,...Kn,...Kx, corresponding to pairs of a soot weight M1,...Mn;...Mx and the associated pressure-related criterion (DPDV); determining a reverse threshold (Senv) of the particle filter and a forward threshold (Send) of the particle filter, and when the particle filter is considered to have reversed with respect to the reverse threshold (Senv) of the filter, reconfiguring the operating conditions of the filter.</p> |
