PURPOSE: A capsulated pancreatic islet for transplantation is provided to effectively treat diabetes without immune rejection and to minimize transplantation volume. CONSTITUTION: A capsulated pancreatic islet comprises: a step of isolating pancreatic islet cells from langerhans source; a step of dispersing the isolated pancreatic islet cells into biocompatible polymer solutions; a step of centrifuging the pancreatic cells dispersed in the solution and removing air bubbles; and a step of capsulating the pancreatic islet cells using an air-driving capsulation device. The biocompatible polymers are alginate. The langerhans source is a pig. A composition for treating diabetes contains the capsulated pancreatic islet cells. |
