An apparatus for preventing a rear-end collision for a vehicle in a fog situation is disclosed. The apparatus for preventing a rear-end collision for a vehicle in a fog situation obtains information on a fog situation for estimating the degree of fog based on photographed images of the front and the back sides of an adjacent vehicle when driving a vehicle in fog. Then, the apparatus performs determination on visibility due to the fog using the obtained information on the fog situation and performs determination on the distance from a vehicle in the rear side. In addition, the apparatus has a composition for automatically regulating the amount of light of a rear lamp according to the results of the visibility and the distance from the vehicle in the rear side. Therefore, the apparatus for preventing a rear-end collision for a vehicle in a fog situation can easily regulate the amount of light of the rear lamp by the degree of fog and the distance actually generated between vehicles so that a driver in the vehicle in the rear side can easily and visually determine the existence of a vehicle in the front side.
