The invention relates to a radial gas foil bearing (B) extending along a rotation axis (X) comprising a carrier element (CE) provided with an opening (OP) extending along said axis (X), further comprising at least one foil (F) extending circumferentially along a radial inner side of said opening of said carrier element (CE), wherein said foil (F) is attached to said carrier element (CE). In order to enable an easy manufacturing as well as safe operation it is proposed to provide at least one radial through hole (TH) in the carrier ring (CE), wherein at least one fixation section (FS) of the foil (F) is formed to be inserted into said through hole (TH), wherein said fixation section (FS) and said through hole (TH) are made such that fixation section (FS) becomes by insertion into said through hole (TH) accessible from radial outside of said carrier element (CE) to be fixed to said carrier element (CE). |
