<p>In a suspended ceiling grid connection between a length of main beam and the ends of first and second cross beams that are secured to the main beam at a right angle, the ceiling grid connection comprises a first connector on the end of the first cross beam extending through a slot in the main beam, and designed to connect with the main beam, and a second connector on a second cross beam on the opposing side of the main beam. The second connector and second cross beam are omitted from the connection, and an L-shaped adapter is included in the connection that replaces the second connector and second cross beam. The L-shaped adapter has a first leg extending through the slot in the main beam, alongside the first connector, that keeps the first connector in locking contact with the main beam, and that is secured to the first cross beam, and a second leg, extending at a right angle from the first leg that lies against the main beam on the side of the main beam opposite the cross beam, whereby a first cross beam and connector that is designed to engage, and connect with, an identical opposing second cross beam and second connector through a slot in the main beam, is capable of being adapted to connect to a main beam without the need to connect to an opposing second cross beam and connector.</p> |
