A method for matching a stereo image in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention includes a step of obtaining a stereo image by using a stereo camera; a step of preprocessing the obtained stereo image; a step of tracking an optimal path by calculating a predetermined matching costs based on pixel values corresponding to the same pixel line as the preprocessed stereo image; and a step of extracting a first depth image by using the difference between both eyes corresponding to the tracked optimal path. The optimal path is tracked by being applied with different scan direction of an odd frame and an even frame of the stereo image.
