A non-linear self-balancing voltage digitizer is characterized in that the feed-back loop contains a non-linear digital-to-digital converter followed by a linear digital-to-analogue converter. The digital-to-digital converter, Fig. 4, converts a seven-bit input, I 1 , I 2 ... I 7 into an eleven-bit output O 1 , O 2 ... O 11 . The first input bit I 1 is a sign bit. The next three I 2 , I 3 , I 4 mark a single one of seven output loads O 2 to O 8 , and the last three input bits I 5 , I 6 , I 7 are merely transferred so as to appear adjacent to the marked output lead already referred to.</p> |
