Heading B1E [Also in Division C5] An oligomerisation catalyst containing Co or C is prepared by the successive steps of (1) bringing a Co compound supported on activated carbon into simultaneous contact with a gas containing molecular oxygen and a solution of alkali metal hydroxide, (2) heating the carbon on which the Co is supported in an inert atmosphere, the latter including a vacuum as well as nitrogen, argon and helium. In examples (CH 3 COO) 2 Co is impregnated onto C in the presence of air and NaoH solution. |
