<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, an apparatus and a program for detecting abnormality in electric wire carrying out processes suitable for a video image using, for example, a self-traveling wire inspection apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: An abnormality detection method for detecting abnormality on an electric wire based on plural continuous images of the electric wire taken by imaging means while moving along the electric wire on which plural twisted element wires are exposed, comprises: an initial value setting process in which, from the plural continuous images 4, boundary position information and width information of the element wires to be a reference in a reference image are received and stored (step S43); an image cut-out process in which the boundaries of the element wires are detected from each of the plural continuous images to cut out surface images of the element wires (steps S44, S45); and an abnormality detection process in which the abnormality on the element wires is detected based on changes in brightness of the surface of the element wires from the surface images of the element wires (steps S46-S48). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
