The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for processing resources by a garbage collector. The resource processing method comprises the following steps: selecting a node forming a part of the resources, determining the status of the node, locking and eliminating the node after determining the status of the node, and verifying whether the node was altered before the elimination, thereby boosting the speed, efficiency and reliability of the garbage collection process.
