[Class 122 (v)] A sealing washer a of pliable material held as a press fit directly in or on a stationary machine part and presenting a sealing lip a<2>, which wipes a movable machine part, and an annulus e, Fig. 1, are inseparably united to form a single oil seal unit. Both parts are adapted to be mounted as press fits, each in or on a different one of two relatively movable parts. The annulus may be a cylindrical or conical shouldered sleeve, or a sheet metal sleeve with radial flanges overlapping and confining the oil seal. Fig. 5 shows an oil seal with a double lip a<2> wiping an annular sheet metal sleeve f with radial flanges f<1>.
