The method involves attaching end regions of a bolt (15) at outer surfaces (16, 17) of a post (2) facing side walls (5, 6) of a post connector (3), where the end regions of the bolt protrude from the respective outer surfaces parallel to a longitudinal axis (L-L). An end of the post adjacent to the bolt is pushed into the post connector, where the side walls of the post connector surround the respective outer surfaces of the post. The bolt is locked in a detent retainer (12) attached at guide ramps (10, 11) arranged at the side walls of the post connector. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for fastening a post at a frame profile of a window or a door by a post connector.
