The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing styrene via a dehydrogenation process of ethylbenzene using water and carbon dioxide. For the purpose, the present invention provides the method for manufacturing styrene via the dehydrogenation process of ethylbenzene using water and carbon dioxide, comprising the steps of: supplying ethylbenzene, water and carbon dioxide to an oxidative dehydrogenation reactor system; generating the stream of a dehydrogenation product including styrene, unreacted ethylbenzen, byproducts and offgas by dehydrogenating the ethylbenzen using a catalyst; and separating the styrene from the styrene, unreacted ethylbenzen, byproducts and offgas generated in the previous step. According to the present invention, the cracking of ethylbenzen is inhibited by reducing cokes, which are generated as water is added and reaction proceeds, on the surface of the catalyst. And catalytic activity is improved by improving the surface adsorption of carbon dioxide on the surface of the catalyst via interaction between carbon dioxide and water. |
