An electronic device for controlling the selective area exposure of an image sensor according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a camera including an image sensor having multiple pixels arranged in a matrix structure; a vertical scanner for sequentially turning on the pixels row by row; a horizontal scanner for sequentially turning on the pixels column by column; and a control unit for directing the vertical and horizontal scanners to turn on pixels in an area of interest among the multiple pixels, wherein the vertical scanner includes multiple sets of reverse and forward vertical shift registers and the vertical scanner selectively exposes the pixels in an area of interest among the multiple pixels by simultaneously turning on one reverse and one forward vertical shift register among the multiple sets. |
