An additional base unit 60 can be added to a standard light fitting of a base unit 12 with rose cover 16, to drive a pendant light 24,26. The additional base unit 60 has a PIR movement sensors 62 which cause the light 24,26 to be lit only when movement is detected and for the light 24,26 to be extinguished a predetermined time after movement ceases to be detected. The PIR sensors 62 can be adjustable in position and sensitivity. The PIR sensors 62 may have a DC mains powered power supply within the additional base unit 60 which may be used to power other detectors 90. The additional base unit 60 can be fixed to the ceiling in place of the base unit 12 and the base unit fixed to the additional base unit 60, or the additional base unit 60 may be affixed beneath the ceiling-attached base unit 12. |
