The purpose of the present invention is to provide a lithium ion secondary battery which uses a negative electrode that is obtained by depositing an active material having a high specific capacity such as silicon on a collector and which is capable of maintaining stable performance for a long period of time. The present invention uses a collector (1) for electrodes, onto which a slurry containing an electrode active material and an aqueous binder is applied in order to form an active material-containing layer (2), and which is characterized in that the surface area ratio of the actual surface area to a unit plane area is 1.1-4.0 in a surface on which the active material-containing layer (2) is formed. Alternatively, the present invention uses a collector (1) for electrodes, onto which a slurry containing an electrode active material and an organic solvent-based binder is applied in order to form an active material-containing layer (2), and which is characterized in that the surface area ratio that is obtained by dividing the actual surface area by a unit plane area is 1.0-7.0 in a surface on which the active material-containing layer (2) is formed. |
