The method involves driving a food strand on a cutting unit (3) in the feed direction relative to a machine frame by a feed unit (2), where a longitudinal axis of the food strand runs parallel to the feed direction. The cross-sectional surfaces are measured continuously by a measuring unit (4) at different positions of the food strand passing the measuring unit. The actual marking is detected from viewing angle of a detector (6'') which is arranged on the opposite-lying sides of the marking. |
