The present invention relates to a method of cleaning a process gas containing sulfur dioxide (SO2) including a step of removing sulfur dioxide (SO2) from a process gas by bring contact sea water into contact with the process gas so that the process gas of which at least one portion is cleaned is generated from a first gas cleaning device. The process gas of which at least one portion is cleaned passing through the first gas cleaning device is cooled to condense moisture in a second gas cleaning device disposed to fluidly communicate with the first gas cleaning device, thereby generating the process gas having vapor reduced in amount. At least one portion of condensation water generated from the second gas cleaning device is supplied to the first gas cleaning device. Also, the present invention relates to a gas cleaning system for cleaning a process gas containing sulfur dioxide (SO2).
