The invention relates to by-product coking industry. A process for processing coal-tar pitch is characterized in that during rectification of coal-tar pitch a chemically active additive – ammonium sulfate in the amount of 0.2-0.3 % of mass of processed pitch is introduced in the form of an aqueous solution, wherein pitch rectification is carried out according to continuous scheme. The invention enables to increase the yield of medium temperature peck at continuous rectification of coal-tar pitch without using expensive external chemical agents, additional equipment, and complex technologic stages.
