PURPOSE: A steel wire for springs with excellent corrosion resistance and a method for manufacturing the spring are provided to improve corrosion resistance by preventing a corrosion pit. CONSTITUTION: A steel wire for springs with excellent corrosion resistance and a method for manufacturing the spring comprise following steps. Wire rods and steel wires, that contain 0.4-0.7 weight % of C, 1.0-3.0 weight % of Mn, 0.01-2.0 weight % of Cr, 0.01-2.0 weight % of Ni, 1.0-3.0 weight % of Cu, 0.005-0.5 weight % of Nb, less than 0.0015 weight % of O, less than 0.01 weight % of AI, less than 0.02 weight % of P, less than 0.02 weight % of S, less than 0.02 weight % of N, and impurities are prepared. The wire rods are drawn to manufacture the steel wires. An austenitizing process is performed for one to ten minutes after heating the steel wires at 850 to 1000°C. The steel wires are tempered at 300 to 500°C after an oil cooling process at 25 to 80°C. |
