The present invention relates to a device for automatically charging an energy storage system and a method thereof and, more specifically, to a device for automatically charging an energy storage system and a method thereof capable of easily setting a charging method for the energy storage system according to user convenience. The device for automatically charging the energy storage system is the device for automatically charging the energy storage system which stores electric energy. The present invention comprises a charging device (210) which converts AC power which is the electric energy into DC power; a battery pack (220) which stores the DC power during a predetermined time; an inverter (230) which converts the DC power into the AC power and supplies the AC power to a load (300); a display unit (240) which confirms the information and state of the device for automatically charging the energy storage system (200) as graphic; a lamp unit (250) which confirms the information and state of the device for automatically charging the energy storage system (200) by using a lamp; an interface (260) which inputs a charging starting time and a charging ending time of the device for automatically charging the energy storage system (200); and a communication port (270) which is connected to a computer for the diagnosis of the device for automatically charging the energy storage system (200).
