<p>The device has a forming roller (5), a counter-roller (12), and a roll gap (20) formed between the forming and counter-rollers and adapted to perform elongated metal material (6) e.g. sheet-metal band. The forming roller includes an imprint structure (4) on an outer surface, where the imprint structure is formed through the roll gap on the material while passing through the material. The forming roller includes driving elements (3) that are engaged with geometry elements (7) e.g. hole, of the material passing through the roll gap and arranged on the outer surface of the forming roller.
