1,167,591. Photographic production of transparencies for use in photo-mechanical processes. KALVAR CORP. Jan. 3, 1967 [July 11, 1966], No. 286/67. Headings G2C and G2M. A transparency is produced by uniformly exposing a vesicular material to actinic light, developing the material, allowing gas to escape leaving an opaque material, and applying hot type to the material to clarify it in image areas. The hot type is generally heated to above 150‹ F. and then pressed into contact with the opaque material. The vesicular materials specified and the methods of development are those disclosed in Specifications 1,119, 071, 1, 126, 336 and 1, 127, 024. The transparency may be used as a master for photo-sensitive materials used for producing printing plates. Half-tone masters may be produced if a heated half-tone forme is used as the hot type.
