2-Aminofurol[2,3-d]Thiazoles and Production Thereof

The invention comprises 2-aminofuro-[2,3-d]- thiazoles of formula where R and R1 are alkyl, alkenyl, phenyl or phenyl-alkyl groups or R and R1 together are a tetramethylene or pentamethylene group which may be interrupted by an oxygen, sulphur or nitrogen atom. The compounds may be prepared by reacting in an inert solvent a secondary amine of formula where R and R1 are as above, with thiamine obtained by reacting a thiamine salt with an equivalent amount of a base, or with thiol-type thiamine obtained by reacting a thiol-type thiamine salt with an equivalent amount of an acidic compound. In examples, morpholine, piperidine, dimethylamine, diethylamine, dibutylamine and N-methyl-N-benzylamine are reacted with thiol-type thiamine obtained by reacting the S-sodium salt of thiol-type thiamine with carbon dioxide and with N-chloromethylene-dimethylammonium chloride; and morpholine is reacted with thiamine obtained by reacting thiamine chloride hydrochloride with triethylamine.
