The present invention relates to a system and a method for providing stock information using a QR code. For this, a system for providing stock information according to an embodiment of the present invention may include: a code making server for making a QR code recorded with ID information of a stock item and ID information of an application; a stock information inquiry server for inquiring stock information through a communication network; a receiving server for receiving the made QR code and a command of a user from a client terminal; a storage server for storing content information and the ID information for each stock item; and a service providing server for searching content of the stock item corresponding to the ID information in the storage server on the basis of the ID information of the stock item recorded in the QR code information received from the receiving server, and providing the content information requested by the user for the client terminal according to the command of the user. Also, a method for providing stock information according to an embodiment of the present invention enables the user to inquire stock item information simply and to perform stock transaction using a QR code through the system for providing stock information, and can provide stock item information for friends of a social network service simply.
