The present invention relates to a drum shaft lifting method for the maintenance of a draw work and, more specifically, to a drum shaft lifting method for the maintenance of a draw work capable of reducing the lifting costs of a drum shaft and increasing work convenience in the maintenance of a draw work by lifting the drum shaft using a multipurpose winch. The drum shaft lifting method is to perform the maintenance and repair of the draw work installed in one side of a derrick containing a top blade for drilling using a drill pipe, and comprising the drum shaft on which a wire for lifting the top blade is wound. A flare is installed in one side of the draw work. A heat shield wall for blocking the heat transferred from the flare is installed between the flare and the draw work. Pad eyes are installed in the derrick and the heat shield wall, respectively, and the draw work is installed therebetween. Accordingly, the present invention can lift the drum shaft using the winch by connecting the winch wire to the drum shaft through the pad eyes.
