Provided is a filter device capable of reducing the non-uniformity of flow speed distribution of gas flowing on the outer circumference part of a hollow filter or around an outlet, capable of solving the problem that liquid attached to the inner wall of a filter case is discharged together with gas, and capable of providing flexibility of a layout when it is mounted on a vehicle. The filter device for gas has a hollow filter which has a bottom part thereof opened and a top part thereof obstructed in a cylindrical filter case formed to be airtight, has a central axis approximately aligning with the central axis of the filter case, introduces gas through an inlet on the bottom part of the filter case into the hollow part of the hollow filter, and discharges the gas through a space between the outer circumference of the hollow filter and the inner circumference wall of the filter case and through the outlet of the top part of the filter case, wherein a flow controlling plate is mounted between the top part of the filter and the outlet on the inner circumference wall of the filter case.
