The present invention relates to a light unit and a lighting system using the same. The light unit comprises a reflector, an optical member and a light source module arranged between the reflector and the optical member. The optical member includes: a transmission unit which transmits light generated by the light source module; and a reflection unit which is adjacent to the transmission unit and reflects the light generated by the light source module, wherein an area ratio of the transmission unit and the reflection unit of the optical member ranges from 5 to 1 to 30 to 1. The reflection unit of the optical member is arranged in the edge of the optical member, and the transmission unit of the optical member is arranged in the center of the optical member. The reflection unit of the optical member is arranged to be overlapped with the light source module, and the transmission unit of the optical member is arranged not to be overlapped with the light source module. Furthermore, the reflection unit of the optical member includes a first side surface adjacent to the light source module and a second side surface adjacent to the transmission unit of the optical member, wherein the distance between the first side surface and the second side surface is 5 mm to 30 mm.
