The present invention relates to a touch-based digital information display apparatus for TV control. The apparatus of the present invention comprises: a touch screen for displaying DID content and a menu button; a communication means for communicating with an external server; a DID content storage unit which stores the DID content; a remote control signal storage unit which stores control data for the infrared ray (IR) remote control signal of a TV; an infrared ray remote control signal generating means which generates the infrared ray (IR) remote control signal for controlling the TV according to the control data; and a control unit which downloads DID content from a server through the communication means and stores the DID content in the DID content storage unit, displays a TV menu button for a TV control and a DID menu button for a DID control on the touch screen if a screen touch is sensed while playing the DID content on the touch screen, displays a TV control screen for the TV control on the touch screen if the TV menu button is selected, and generates a corresponding remote control signal by bringing control data for the corresponding control from the remote control signal storage unit and controlling the infrared ray remote control signal generating means if an operation of a channel, volume, or power is sensed in the TV control screen.
