The present invention relates to a method of detecting leakage current using a microprocessor comprising the steps of: a micro controller unit (MCU) detecting the leakage current through a leakage current detection unit; a amplification unit amplifying a voltage signal of the leakage current; a comparator comparing the amplified voltage signal with the reference voltage; and the MCU detecting the amount of the leakage current as a result of comparison. According to the present invention, the method blocks the leakage current by detecting the accurate amount of the leakage current by using the microprocessor so that the incorrect operation when impulse current is generating due to the on and off of the power supply can be prevented.
