MULTI-ENERGY X-RAY GENERATOR AND SYSTEM USING THE SAME

Provided are a multi-energy X-ray generator capable of acquiring X-ray images with diverse energy spectra by controlling pressure in an accelerating tube of and time to emit electrons in a single X-ray generator concurrently and an imaging system using the same. The multi-energy X-ray generator of the present invention comprises: a cold cathode X-ray tube including a field electron emission type cold cathode, a grid electrode applied with an electric filed to emit electrons from the cold cathode, and an anode generating X-rays by collision of the emitted electrons; a direct-current power supplying unit for applying an electric field with a certain strength between the cold cathode and the grid electrode so that the cold cathode can emit the electrons; a current supplying unit including a current generator for supplying a current for electron emission to the cold cathode, and a switch for controlling the current generator whether or not to supply the current; a high voltage generating unit for applying a variable voltage between the grid electrode and the anode to accelerate the emitted electrons to one or more energy size; and a control unit for controlling the high voltage generating unit and an operation of the switch of the current supplying unit to be synchronized.
